Vita Mundi Cards: The Vita Mundi image was created in 1932 by Mother Margaret Mary Nealis r.s.c.j (1876- 1957). Called "Vita Mundi" Latin for Life of the World, the image was originally inspired by a child who came to the back door of the convent. Mother Nealis painted it on the first thing she could lay her hands on, the back cover of an exam notebook.
Stella Matutina Cards: The Stella Matutina image was created in 1935 by Mother Margaret Mary Nealis r.s.c.j (1876- 1957). Called "Stella Matutina" Latin for Morning Star; the image depicts the Blessed Mother as a young child in prayer surrounded by Lilies with the lone Morning Star shining brightly in the dawn sky.
Parvulus Pastor Cards: The Parvulus Pastor image was created in 1938 by Mother Margaret Mary Nealis r.s.c.j (1876- 1957). Called "Parvulus Pastor" Latin for Tiny Shepherd; the image depicts the Christ Child as a young shepherd, lovingly draping His fragile lamb up in His cloak to protect Him from a cold Canadian snowstorm.
Ubi Caritas Cards: The Ubi Caritas image was created in 1947 by Mother Margaret Mary Nealis r.s.c.j (1876- 1957). Called "Ubi Caritas" Latin for Where There is Love; this image depicts the Christ Child studying the globe with his right hand gently resting on North America. This is the only Mother Nealis image to incorporate modern imagery with skyscrapers and aircraft flying in the background.
